Happy New Year and a warm welcome back to Unfolding NEW PATTERNS! As we step into this year, I'm filled with hope for positive change and, most importantly, peace. Reflecting on the past year's whirlwind of excitement and challenges, filled with a lot of international travel, nurturing conversations, and countless hours dedicated to research and writing, I'm eager for you to see the fruits of this labor, which I will be sharing soon.

We didn't do an “Unfolding Strategies year-end review,” but some of the most eye-opening experiences were visiting Nike HQs in Portland, OR, and talking to their sustainability and tech teams, as well as diving into BMW's vision for digital innovation in the automotive industry. It was fantastic to see the book "Radical Fashion Exercises" come out. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in fashion education.

I'm thrilled to have shared numerous podcasts and participated in conferences, especially Web3 in London, Google x Fashion Revolution in Warsaw, Digital Fashion in Taipei, and the Sustainable Summit in Berlin. These are the ones that stuck with me. On a personal note, I cherished every moment spent in Japan and hope to be back soon.

This month, we kick off with our usual reading recommendations, covering the latest and most significant news and forecasts in fashion tech and sustainability. Then, we will move to my favorite part: Pure Joy, where we explore fun facts and curiosities. I believe we need a little bit of joy and fun. Additionally, we're diving into the theme of wearable technology. We'll provide insights into its history, and current advancements, and share the plausible future scenarios we uncovered for T-Mobile and Alpha Tauri last year.

Plus, we're excited to present our longest and most thought-provoking podcast yet, featuring designer, inventor, and entrepreneur Ivan Pourypev. In this episode, we look into wearable tech and physical AI, discussing Ivan's pioneering work at Google, including Project Jacquard, and dissecting the technologies and human behaviors that drive them.

Thank you for reading, listening, and sharing. Appreciate it!

Wishing you a beautiful year,
Beata Wilczek
